Happy Independence Day!

We had a great 4th of July weekend. Chess loved the festivities and did great staying up much later than usual to watch fireworks. I was afraid she would be scared at the loud sound, but she just leaned back and watched. She got bored after a few minutes and started "fixing" my hair. She got interested again just in time to see the grand finale.

Here she is in the outfit I bought for her last year on sale. It's size 18 months, but luckily it fit! (Oh, she's learned to open her drawers. She likes to dump out clothes and carry them around.)

This is a fun activity. I follow Chess around outside with the camera.

Here is the family that joined us for our town fireworks. It is a great show and only about a mile away from our house. We walk so we don't have to fight the crowds for parking.

Chess and Stacy

with Halle and Bailey - Chess loves to follow them and play with them

I love this one.

Chess only wants the book that Halle currently has.

looking very concerned for some reason

enjoying the show

We also celebrated with a picnic and playing at Vogel.

She kept sitting in the water! It was freezing!

I changed her into her bathing suit AFTER she played in the river...hmmmm....smart.

The end.
