Christmas Day and SNOW

Our family Christmas feast.

Waiting to watch the program.

The Thompson family's first time doing the nativity story.  We used felt puppets I made.

Alison loves Jared. :)

Snow!  Georgia's first white Christmas since 1881.

Chess loved every minute of it.

This is Sunday morning.  Lera loves to share Jared's cereal (yes, he eats cereal out of a cup).  I love the white snow outside.

Baby, it's cold outside!

Look at that happy face!  Jared was pulling Chess on the sled (bought at a yard sale for $1 - boy, did it come in handy).

Oops...she crashed.  She was going really fast.  Her face got scratched up, but she is pretty tough.

Family photo - Chess is still a little upset about crashing.  The hot chocolate she got when we went inside cheered her back up.

Hot chocolate and mega block break.  Daddy's tower is tall.

Back outside for a little more play time.  We built a mini snowman.

Momma's snow castle.

Merry Christmas!

The end.

Christmas Morning 2010

Notice, there are no ornaments on the bottom half of the tree.

Here they come!

These See's chocolate suckers were the hit of the morning.  Once the girls dug them out of their stockings, there was nothing else that could get their attention.  It took Lera FOREVER to eat hers, so I let her out of her highchair - that was a mistake.  I was basically following her around with a rag, wiping chocolate off everything she touched.

This picture is hilarious to me.  Lera did NOT want to sit for a picture.  I'm pointing to get her to look at the camera.  Chess is sucking on Lera's sucker.  Sneaky girl.

Yep.  Lera got strapped back in so I could relax.  Did I say that the sucker lasted FOREVER?  It did.  She sure had a good time finishing it off, though.

Christmas Eve 2010

Jared and the girls getting the fire started.

Chess and Lera eating the last gingerbread men on our Christmas countdown.

Chess really enjoyed reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas."  Lera, not so much.

Santa's cookies are all ready.  Chess was really excited to leave Santa cookies.  That was the first thing she checked when she came down on Christmas morning!  She looked at her toys, but she walked right past them to the table to look at the plate of cookies.  She said, "Santa ate his cookies, then went back to the North Pole."

Three Christmas Joys

1. Christmas Toes

2. Driving around to look at Christmas lights (we found some awesome ones this year, thanks to the local newspaper for sharing)

(this was also Lera's first time facing the front in her car seat)

3. My Christmas presents working for me while I do other things in the kitchen (Cuisinart stand mixer and Blendtec wheat grinder - LOVE them)

Saint Nick

We went to Bass Pro Shop again to see Santa.  I think he is such a good Santa, plus they let you take all the pictures and video you want.

We started out looking at the fish.

They also have a lot of things to keep you entertained while you wait to see Santa.

Here we are on the red carpet.  It's almost our turn to sit in Santa's lap.

Lera screamed and clung to her cracker cup for dear life.

After they snapped the pic, they said, "You can take the little one now."  So I did, and Santa talked to Chess for a little bit.

Merry Christmas!
